Privacy policy

Last updated:

busuttilDesign is operated by Stephen Busuttil Design Pty Limited (ABN 64 617 981 987). In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to that company.

This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information when you visit our website, contact us or work with the studio. Personal information is information about an identified or reasonably identifiable individual.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, telephone number, organisation and role.

  • Information you include in an enquiry, project brief, correspondence or feedback.

  • Contact, billing and administrative information needed to manage a working relationship.

  • Personal information included in materials supplied for a project.

  • Technical and usage information associated with visits to our website.

We usually collect information directly from you. We may also receive it from someone acting on your behalf, such as a colleague or project contact.

Please only share another person’s information where you are authorised to do so. Avoid including sensitive personal information in an initial enquiry. If a project requires it, we will agree an appropriate process before it is shared.

You may make a general enquiry without identifying yourself, where practical. However, we may need your contact details and other relevant information to respond or provide our services.

How we use information

We use personal information where reasonably needed to:

  • Respond to enquiries and discuss potential projects.

  • Prepare proposals, provide services and collaborate on work.

  • Manage client and supplier relationships, payments and records.

  • Operate, maintain and protect our website and business systems.

  • Understand how our website is used and improve it.

  • Meet legal obligations and deal with complaints or disputes.

If we wish to use information for a materially different purpose, we will provide any notice or obtain any consent required by applicable law.

Enquiries and project information

Our website forms are provided through Framer. When you submit an enquiry, we collect the information you provide so we can respond and discuss your project. Enquiries may also be received and managed through our business email system.

Where needed to prepare a proposal or manage a project, we may record relevant contact details, correspondence and project information in our business systems, including WorkflowMax and Notion.

Website hosting and analytics

Our website is hosted on Framer and uses its built-in analytics to understand visits and page activity. Framer describes this analytics service as using neither cookies nor persistent visitor identifiers. It provides information such as referring websites, approximate visitor location and device or browser type.

Hosting and security services may also process technical information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the website.

Who we share information with

We may share relevant information with collaborators, contractors and service providers who help us deliver projects or operate the studio. These include providers of website hosting, email, file storage, project management, accounting and other business services.

We limit sharing to what is reasonably needed for the task and require appropriate confidentiality and protection where relevant.

We may also disclose information to professional advisers or where required or authorised by law.

AI-assisted tools

We may use AI-assisted tools in design and studio work, with human direction and review.

Consistent with our project terms, we do not knowingly enter client confidential, personal or sensitive information into public or training-enabled AI services without prior written client approval.

Client approval does not replace any other notice, consent or protection required by applicable privacy law.

Information handled overseas

We work with collaborators in Australia and overseas, including the United Kingdom. Where necessary for a project, relevant information may be shared with these collaborators.

Our service providers may also store or process information outside Australia. The locations involved depend on the provider and the services used.

Where applicable privacy law requires safeguards for overseas disclosure, we take the steps required by that law.

Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No electronic system or method of transmission is completely secure.

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including relevant legal, accounting and record-keeping requirements.

When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it, subject to any legal retention requirements.

Access and correction

You can contact us to request access to personal information we hold about you, or to ask us to correct it.

You can also ask us to delete information we no longer need, although legal or record-keeping requirements may prevent immediate deletion.

We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within a reasonable time and explain any lawful reason we cannot fulfil a request.
